The National Restoration show.

Sometimes you have to get down on your hands and knees and have a good rummage in those old boxes at auto jumbles , and that's exactly what i did at the National Restoration show at Stoneleigh. And i came up with this original Lucas back light for a Pound , this wonder full old copy of  ' The  Motor Cycle ' 1948 for a pound, and best of all a Norton ES2 work shop manual...perfect for my new Norton  ...and yes that was a pound !
I also managed to buy some brass bullet electrical connectors, ideal to repair and renovate old wiring harnesses  ( car or bike ) they also solder well.

The Usual Suspects.

A fine collection of well worn titles from
' The book of the Humber Hawk ' down to ' The car Doctor A-Z '
Please note ' The book of the Singer ' ..this has nothing to do with Sewing machines.

Stafford Classic Bike Show 2010

Spent the day at the  Classic Bike Show at Stafford , i managed to meet up with two pals Terry and big Dave. Not a bad show , although i think i prefer the Spring show that tends to have a lot more classic  British parts.  Mind you when the sun shone it made some of the 70s candy colour schemes look really cool.

The Ladybird Book of the Motor Car.

When i was a small boy in junior school there was always
one book that we always looked at and played ' what car will you have when you grow up ' the book in question was  the  Ladybird book of  Motor Cars by David Carey. And in those days when picking your dream ' small car ' you were either a Mini fan or an Imp fan.  One of the things i still admire  about this 1968 version of the book is the wonderful artwork.

The DAF Variomatic

This was another  very popular small car of its time , and in its heyday DAF produced nearly one  hundred thousand cars per year , nowadays the DAF transmission business is flourishing with their patented continuous variable transmissions business. The same basic form of transmission that is used on many modern automatics including the Toyota Prius.
