Here I am after climbing Sunrising Hill on my old AJS, after fitting new valve guides in the winter
the bike performed brilliantly on this my first VMCC Banbury run. Behind me are other Vintage riders who have pulled over to rest their machines, themselves or maybe just do some tinkering before continuing
on their way.
If it smells of oil or Petrol ...its in the shed.

Early in the paddock at the 2012 VMCC Banbury Run
The Banbury Run is the Largest gathering of Veteran and Vintage machines in the world and is held at the Heritage Motor Centre at Gaydon in Warwickshire. And this was my first Banbury as a rider after spectating for many years. And because I was riding my 1927 AJS to the event I wanted to get there as early as possible and sort out the priorities ..like Coffee, Chocolate and where the heck to tie my entrant number.
The 2012 VMCC Banbury Run
One of the first jobs that entrants do when arriving in the paddock is to affix that all important number.

The Breakfast Run.
be on the road nice and early for a Vintage Motor Cycle run and end up at a Traditional Cafe for a full on Traditional Breakfast. But there is a catch...and the catch is getting out of bed around 5.00 am. But it is well worth the effort to be able to ride on deserted country lanes and hear the exhaust note of Classic Motor Cycles
reverberating through sleepy villages.
The Breakfast Run.
Meeting at 6.00 for a 6.30 departure here we see two water cooled Suzuki's one a Kettle
and the other a RE5 Rotary.
and the other a RE5 Rotary.

A night at the Museum
Once a year the Coventry Transport Museum The Coventry Transport Museum rolls back the huge steel doors of its its own back yard, and invites Friends and local VMCC members to visit the Museum after hours. The event is a very friendly and informal affair and invites local enthusiasts to ride in on an interesting machine, chat with Friends, and view some of the Museums exhibits while closed to the general public. Many thanks go to the Friends of the Coventry Motor Museum for organising the evening.
A night at the Museum
Those were the days! part of an exhibition to educate the public as to the extensive world wide exports that Coventry made products once had.
A night at the Museum
And before long it was time for the evenings two wheeled visitors to fire up their machines and head for home.
