Early Bicycles

A Friend of mine kindly loaned me this selection of very early Bicycle post cards, and Apart from being very nice illustrations they clearly shows the connection  between early pioneer cycle manufacturing trade names and the fledgling  motor Cycle Industry and in some cases Motor Car manufactures. Its possible the cards were printed for the Coventry Transport Museum who have a very fine collection of early pioneer bicycles.http://www.transport-museum.com/collection/1908BSABicycle.aspx

Salt's The Tobacconist

Some years ago one of the 'Old Boys ' I used to work with asked me if I would like to try some Snuff, and yes I did give it a go. After much sneezing, coughing and Laughter I asked the question " where the heck do you buy snuff from in this day and age? "  They just turned to me and said " Salt's the Tobacconist of course"  And  just after Christmas we found ourselves walking past that very shop.  Situated in New Union Street Coventry and  there has been three generations of Salt's Tobacconists in Coventry which  Originally started in 1916. Many thanks to the Friendly Gentleman behind the counter for allowing me to take these Photos.
